Kerbside Rubbish and Recycling Collection

Your rubbish and recycling is collected on the same day. To check what day your rubbish and recycling is click here.

Please have your rubbish and recycling on the kerb before 7am on collection day. It’s best not to put your rubbish bags out the night before because animals can get into them.

Help us to help you by making sure you use rubbish bags correctly and know the rules around recycling. Our rubbish team won’t pick up your bags if they aren’t put out properly. If you dump rubbish illegally, or keep putting out rubbish in the wrong way, you could be fined or prosecuted.

Max Bags: Each household can put out up to two bags of rubbish per week.
Max Weight: Make sure your bags aren’t heavier than 20kg each or bigger than 60 litres.

We won’t collect bags with:

  • unwrapped sharp objects
  • hot liquid or ashes
  • syringes and needles
  • chemicals, paints and solvents.

In your recycling crate we collect:

  • plastics with the 1 and 2 symbols
  • aluminium and steel tins and cans
  • glass bottles and jars.
Kerbside rubbish and recycling

Tie your paper and cardboard together and place beside the recycling bin.

Cardboard boxes should be flattened and be no bigger than 75cm x 75cm.

Place your recycling crate and paper and cardboard on the kerb near your rubbish.

Overflowing crates: Please do not to overfill your recycling crates. Overfilled crates create unsightly street litter and are a health and safety risk for collectors (broken glass etc.). Recycling placed higher than the top of the crate will not be collected.

Unfortunately, we can’t take pizza boxes for recycling as food waste compromises our paper and card recycling. Fold them up and pop them in the black bag.
